We had a group of students again from Missouri S&T out for their first skydive! The group of 7 was so patient and fun to have around. We spend the morning waiting for winds to calm down and the second they did these guys were ready to fly! Great skydives guys!

Even some of our awesome fun jumpers were out this weekend, my favorite! Roger came with the wife and “kids” in tow. Banks and Colleen, Amanda, Scott… It felt like a summer day at the DZ. Joe was also out exercising that new A license and made his first (BEER!) skydive with his new jumpsuit. WOO HOO!

Did I mention that for the second time this season the stupendous Gary Peak came to our rescue?? We couldn’t have made it through all the tandems without his lift power! Thank you so much Gary, we love having you at the DZ. Great spots!!

We had Tracy and Doug out to celebrate their 1st anniversary, congrats you two, great skydives! There was no shortage of enjoyment and thrills in the landing area Sunday afternoon, everyone that made a skydive had that old familiar perma-smile we know and love.

Blake also owes his share of beer from this weekend – great job on staying alert and on your toes and initiating those emergency procedures we practice every time we put our rigs on. After taking what seemed like hours to hook up my old Stiletto 150 he got in a whole 2 skydives before the top skin of one of the cells split from nose to tail. Congrats on making it back to the DZ under that giant 202 reserve!!!

Taylor and Josh were in full swing on the packing mat as well – thank you guys for keeping up with us! Taylor, I’m still really looking forward to seeing what your openings are like. Should be fun! I appreciate your help! And thanks to Mark for packing me and Mike for taking over for me in the landing area – jumping with a sinus infection isn’t always the smartest thing in the world, but now today, Tuesday, I can hear out of my left ear again, so I have zero regrets!!!

Just a reminder at this point in time we are available for jumping SEVEN DAYS A WEEK! If you have 3 people wanting to make some fun jumps and weather looks good, call me and we will get the plane moving! We also have several people booking during the week so you can always call to see if we have tandems coming out you can hop on a load with. We should have both our 2nd and 3rd planes at the airport within the next couple of weeks – but until then on weekends we will be bringing in a 2nd plane to keep the loads available.

The season is among us – it’s time to update your repack and knock the rust off! Come make a skydive and leave the gloves at home! It’s skydiving time! Until next weekend!

What a day! We had 28 students come to the drop zone from Rolla yesterday to make a tandem skydive. Our team ran like a well-oiled machine and had them all done by 4:30 pm. Gary Peek, our Regional Director, brought his plane in to help. Paul flew our plane and together they flew 19 loads of jumpers. Terry, Brian, and Mike were doing back to back tandems. Ashley shot 8 videos in a row. Johnny packed non-stop to keep the tandems in the air. Meggan kept the manifest flowing smoothly. And Mark was everywhere at once. He did one of the tandems, kept Ashley packed so she could shoot all the videos, helped Johnny pack tandems, geared up students, helped Meggan with manifest, and still had time for a hop & pop at the end of the day. Thank you, students of Missouri S&T, for coming out and jumping with us. And thank you, everyone at Fly Free Skydiving, for making the day run so smoothly!
