Weekly Update for 10/11/09
The weekends are getting cooler and the leaves on the trees are
starting to change colors to a beautiful array of golden orange. The
weather is beautiful for making skydives this time of year and there
were plenty of people out to take advantage of that fact this past
weekend at Fly Free Skydiving.

We started our day on Saturday with the ever so lovely Kayla out to
celebrate her birthday with proud papa Jeff! Jeff has been itching to
take his little girl on a skydive since his first taste of the air and
we were happy to show her what her Dad had been talking about for all
these years! Kayla you did a fantastic job! A couple more skydives and
you’ll be better then dear old Dad

Kyle, who has become a weekend junkie at the DZ, showed up Saturday
morning with Krispy Kreme donuts and the need for some air. Not to
disappoint we were happy to get Kyle up in the air on his Category C
skydive! Now remember what we talked about Kyle, when we say ARCH we
aren’t talking about the big one down town in St. Louis! A couple more
weekends with Krispy Kremes and I think we’re going to have one heck of
a skydiver on our hands… Kyle you are doing a great job and your canopy
work is outstanding – just so long as Mike and I can keep from talking
to you on the radio, silly mother hens!

Paul and William were out Saturday, Paul is loving being back in the air
and William is progressing through IAD very nicely! Dwayne and Dave were
also by for their dose of the action. I sure can’t wait for Dwayne to
“grow up” so we can take him on a skydive – come on you two – just think
of what awesome videos we could edit of you two gentlemen (now I’m
sucking up) skydiving – you know you want to!

With day light left and our day winding down there was only one thing
left to do – talk our wonderful hanger neighbor Stephen into taking the
opportunity to fly outside of the airplane! It didn’t take much
convincing and before you knew it Mom was out and watching and Stephen
was geared up and ready to go! Stephen thoroughly enjoyed his skydive –
and it showed. I overheard him on the phone talking one of his friends
into learning to fly his airplane so he can start jumping out of it –
we’ve created a monster – woo hoo!

Sunday started off slow and cold – little did we know what kind of a
busy day it would turn out to be! Ryan came out to visit us Sunday and
Blake and I were happy to welcome him out to the DZ with a sweet 3 way
skydive. These two gentlemen made me look good, it was a blast skydiving
with you two! Ryan, we hope you come out again soon, we enjoyed having
you in the air with us!

The schedule for the day was lighter then our 5MPH winds all until one
phone call changed everything! Theresa and 8 of her friends just HAD to
skydive Sunday and who were we to say no?! With the impromptu help of
our good friend Terry, we were able to get all 9 of these wonderful
skydivers up in the air before dark. Mark and Terry you two rocked those
tandems and Blake and Mike did a superb job keeping rigs packed. What a
team!

The upcoming weekends in Festus are packed full of fun and altitude – we
are having the 2nd going away party for Cory this weekend and any
weekend with the Meade family is sure to be fun! Water training will be
held the following Friday night at 7:30 PM for those looking towards
getting their B license and in just a few more weeks the 1st Annual Fly
Free Skydiving Halloween party will be in full swing! I’ve seen some of
the costumes already, trust me, you don’t want to miss this party!!!
As always, thanks for yet another stupendous weekend at the DZ and we
hope to see you out again this weekend!
XOXO!
